Our senior dog really loves these small, crunchy dog biscuits. I couldn’t find the turkey or chicken treats that used to be his favorites, so I picked up a 9-ounce resealable bag of these bite-sized turkey-shaped treats. They’re crunchy without being hard, our dog likes turkey, and Merrick has a good reputation. The Turducken treats were a huge hit and I plan to buy them from Amazon next time. They’re eligible for Amazon prime shipping as an “add-on” in any order over $25. I would get them as an add-on as long as they weren’t going to be thrown into a box with heavy items that might crush the bag. Crumbs are a crummy crumby treat!
The Turducken bites are oven baked and contain turkey, duck, and chicken. Deboned turkey is the first ingredient, combined with several vegetables and fruits. As soon as I opened the bag, Max immediately did his bouncy happy dance. He is almost 15 years old and is missing a few teeth, so I try to find small treats that are not extremely hard. Also, with advancing age, it’s apparent that super-crunchy treats bother his throat. He doesn’t hack after he gets these, so that’s also a plus. These are perfect!
The ingredients are all-natural, grain-free, gluten-free, with no ingredients from China, and they’re made in the USA. The list includes: deboned turkey, sweet potatoes, potatoes, peas, organic cane molasses, chicken fat, carrots, duck, chicken, apples, flaxseed, gelatin, mixed tocopherols (a preservative), rosemary, sage, and thyme.
I’ve tried many different treats with Max, and he has definite likes and dislikes. He loves turkey treats and absolutely goes bonkers for these. He has turned down some other treats that contain molasses, but not these. Though small, each treat has 27 calories, so be aware of that if your dog is overweight. These dog-cookies were so well-received that I’m encouraged to try some of the other Merrick dog treats.
